A small sandy beach with rocks at either end and a small rocky harbour. Porth Colman is a pretty beach and normally very quiet. There is a car park halfway along the beach, but no other facilities.
There are no real surfable waves here, but SW winds blow cross-shore so the windsurfing is much under-rated. Its ideal for intermediates or above and provides good bump and jump conditions. At low tide the beach is quite steeply shelving so be aware of this.
Parking is available nearby as are camping and caravan sites. This is a fantastic, quiet spot, with plenty of space for families and non-'forces-of-nature sporting' partners.
To find it, follow signs for Nefyn from Criccieth. At Morfa Nefyn, turn left and Porth Colman is by Llangwynadl, four miles or so on from Tudweiliog

Porth Colmon
I learned to windsurf here back in the 80's.
Started on a Dufour Sun and sailing here ended in the 90's on a Tiga
slalom. (I now sail on Long Island in USA). Every variation of board and
sail was sailed in between.
Putting nostalgia aside, I cannot say enough good things about this site.
In calm weather it's great to learn on sandy bottom. Plenty of chop when
the wind picks up and really challenging chop in tide race develops at the
southern point of the bay. You can remain reasonably protected by the bay
if your runs don't get too over enthusiastically long! There is always a
location a very few miles away if the conditions aren't right for this spot
too.
It's an ideal location to camp and use as a base from which you try the
local spots.
Very friendly, low key area. Family oriented and few modern
distractions.
If you sail from Porth Colman, be sure there is someone there who's keeping
an eye on you. A quiet spot.
